There are couples who come together for a little while, and drift apart. 5/13/2023 0 Comments Romeo x Juliet, Vol. 01 by GONZO![]() ![]() ![]() Not only from a majority of the manga I have read, but as well as what Shakespear wrote them as being originally. The characters are different, and relatively unique. Once I had actually read and finished, however, I was glad I did. I had put off reading this manga ( as well as watching the anime ), in spite of many people telling me of their enjoyment over both. ![]() The characters in this manga are actually quite a bit different than how Shakespeare originally wrote them! Which is something I enjoyed. In some places it looks odd or lacks details, or is just bland to look at in general. It's not very stunning nor breathtaking, nor anything that's very different from any other manga. ![]() In the very end, I found that the twists were interesting, but not enough to bring myself to a point that I found myself extremely fond of, nor completely understanding of, what happened. Towards various different aspects and events that happened, I was questioning myself and what I'd read, as well as rereading/glancing it over. Said factors are both unique and confusing. There are quite a few factors, however, that claim difference between the two. Story-wise Romeo x Juliet, is indeed another tale based off that of William Shakespeare's work " Romeo and Juliet ". ![]() ![]() ![]() to London, where director Claire Scanlon (TV’s “Never Have I Ever”) is certain to ring every cliched London “bell” in a montage. When Eli unexpectedly connects to the Internet, he discovers his father has sealed them away from the real world. Eli wonders why his mother keeps producing children, why his father stays in his locked study and why certain supplies are running out. Fifteen-year-old Eli and his family live in the Compound, a state-of-the-art underground shelter designed by their billionaire father to withstand a nuclear attack and protect them for the “next fifteen years in luxurious comfort.” After six years of isolation, Eli still thinks about his twin brother Eddy and his grandmother, who were “accidentally” left behind the fateful night his father herded everyone else into the Compound and locked the door. ![]() ![]() ![]() A teen questions the world his father has created and finds some shocking answers. ![]() 5/12/2023 0 Comments Merlin book 1 the lost years![]() ![]() Barron serves on many boards including Princeton University, where he helped to create the Princeton Environmental Institute, and The Wilderness Society, which recently honored him with its highest award for conservation work. Rachel is a character whose head I bizarrely enjoyed inhabiting, in spite of or perhaps because of the sheer level of toxicity. ![]() Mid-detox, she meets Miriam, an Orthodox woman who works at Rachel’s local frozen yogurt place, who Rachel becomes fixated on, leading to a breakdown of her carefully constructed food rituals.īroder’s books are messy, piercing, gritty, and deeply, deeply funny–it’s a recipe that works perfectly to my tastes. Her therapist recommends a detox from her emotionally abusive mother, who Rachel usually calls every day. Milk Fed, Broder’s sophomore novel following her sensational debut The Pisces, follows Rachel, a lapsed Jewish woman who works at a talent agency in LA and spends every waking hour of her days counting calories and fixating on her diet. Ultimately it did lose a bit of steam and I can’t help but to mourn for the exceptional book that it could have been, but nevertheless, I still enjoyed this so much and recommend it wholehearted to the right reader. After I read the first 30%, I was convinced that this was going to be my favorite book of the year. ![]() Milk Fed just goes to show that you can love a book and still be incredibly disappointed in it. ![]() |
